Early Life of Prateik Babbar
Prateik Babbar was born to a celebrated Bollywood couple on 28th November 1986. His father is the veteran actor and politician Raj Babbar and his mother was the acclaimed actress Smita Patil. His mother died just after the birth of Prateik due to postpartum complications.

Career of Prateik Babbar
Prateik Babbar began his career as a production assistant by assisting advertisement filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar for about a year. During this period, Prateik was also featured in the advertisement films of many companies. His made his debut through the advertisement of the chocolate company Nestle Kitkat which was followed by many more. His television appearances soon rendered him recognition in the entertainment world.

Prateik Babbar, Bollywood Actor Prateik Babbar made his cinematic debut as an actor in 2008 in the Bollywood flick Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na under the production of Aamir Khan. In the film he appeared alongside Imran Khan and Genelia D`Souza and essayed the role of Genelia`s brother, Amit. The movie turned out to be a commercial success and his appealing performance in the movie in spite of being a debutant won a number of awards and huge appreciations. His next venture was Kiran Rao`s Dhobi Ghaat which received positive reviews at various film festivals around the globe. His portrayal of a rugged dhobi and a wannabe model was marked as splendid. Action-thriller Dum Maro Dum was Prateik`s next film in which he acted along with Abhishek Bachchan. In the year 2011 he starred alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpai, Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan in the Prakash Jha`s film Aarakshan in which his performance in a supporting role was well appreciated. In the same year he also acted in Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s rom-com flick My Friend Pinto opposite Kalki Koechlin which unfortunately could not perform well at the Box office. In the following year Prateik starred in Ekk Deewana Tha while in 2013 he acted in Issaq.

Achievements of Prateik Babbar
In the year 2009 Prateik Babbar won the Filmfare Special Jury Award and Stardust Award for Breakthrough Performance Male for his outstanding performance in the film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. He also received nominations for various other awards.
