The city and municipal committee of Buria is situated in the Yamunanagar district in the state of Haryana in the northern part of India. The exact geographical location of the town is at 30°8'59"N and 77°20'59"E. The 2001 India census reveals that the population of Buria, comprising 55% males, 45% females and 14% children less than 6 years of age, is 9829. The average literacy rate is 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%. 65% and 50% are respectively literate among the males and the females.
