Aditya Roy Kapur is an Indian actor who has gained recognition for his appealing performances. Previously he worked as a VJ in Channel V. Aditya Roy Kapur stepped into the arena of Indian movies in the year 2009 with Vipul Shah's movie London Dreams. He however gained prominence in the Indian film industry in the year 2010 through his movies Guzaarish and Action Replayy.
Early Life of Aditya Roy Kapur
Aditya Roy Kapur was born to a Punjabi father and a Jewish mother on 16th of November 1985 in Mumbai. His mother, Salome Roy Kapur nee Aaron was crowned as Miss India 1972, worked as a model and also performed in a movie named Tu Hi Meri Zindagi along with Deb Mukherjee in 1965. She later also worked as a film choreographer. Aditya Roy Kapur completed his schooling from G. D. Somani Memorial School, in Cuffe Parade of Mumbai. Afterwards, Aditya Roy Kapur completed his graduation from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. Aditya never had any formal training in acting, although he is a trained dancer and had also taken diction classes for improving his Hindi accent. He is the youngest of three siblings. Siddharth Roy Kapur is his eldest brother who is the CEO of UTV Motion Pictures and had recently married the famous Indian actress Vidya Balan. Kunaal Roy Kapur is Aditya's another elder brother who also works as an actor and had appeared in movies like Delhi Belly (2011) and Nautanki Saala (2013).

Career of Aditya Roy Kapur began as a Channel V VJ where he gained popularity owing to his unique style and excellent comic timing. In 2009, he made his debut in the movie London Dreams where he worked with Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan. Later, in 2010, he was featured in a time-travelling comedy movie Action Replayy. In the same year he was also starred in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish. The turning point of Aditya Roy Kapur's career arrived with the movie Aashiqui 2 in 2013, directed by Mohit Suri. The movie was a box office blockbuster and earned the actor great fame. In the movie, Aditya portrayed the role of a once-popular alcoholic singer. The movie also proved to be the first commercial success of Aditya Roy Kapur. In 2013, he was also starred in Ayan Mukerji's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in a supporting role. The actor received positive to mixed reviews for this blockbuster movie.
