Culture of Bhojpur district includes a wide range of activities, including films, literature and fashion. The films made here are interesting and involve successful film personalities like Janardan Singh who made the film `Piya Nirmohia`, Viswanth Shahabadi who directed `Ganga Maiya Tohen Piyari Chadhaib`, Ashok Chand Jain and Laxman Shahabadi who made the movie `Ganga Kinare Mora Gao` and many more talented personas. Pawan Singh, Manoj Tiwary, Vinit Singh, Chotu Chaliya are significant artists of Ara district.

Generally, residents of Ara district follow all forms of traditional fashion styles, particularly during social pr festive occasions when it comes to footwear or other types of clothing. Sri Jaitendra Kishore Jain was a distinguished dramatist and Sri Shivnandan Sahay was well-known for his biographical creations. Pundit Ramdahin Mishra and Pundit Sakal Narayan Sharma are noted prose writers who ruled the age of the Dwivedi. Another renowned novelist and writer belonging to this area is Acharya Shivpujan Sahay. Sri Ramdayal Pandey, Sri Nandkisor Tiwari, Sri Kedarnath Mishra Prabhat, Collector Singh Keshari, Sri Ramnath Pathak Pranaye, Prof. Sarvdev Tiwary Rakesh and others are significant poetic personalities associated with the rich culture of Bhojpuri. These people lived during the Chayavadi era.

`Kaljayi Kunwar Singh` was the very first Bhojpuri Mahakabya which was composed by Professor Sarvdev Tiwary Rakesh. Professor Mithileshwar is yet another notable person who received numerous awards in the field of literature, both at the national as well as international levels.
