Eriyodu
Eriyodu is a panchayat town located in Dindigul district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The town is surrounded by almost ten villages and is situated at an elevation of 260 metres.

It is situated along the Karur State Highway road. The town has an average elevation of 260 metres and is surrounded by ten villages. The enchanting hill station, Kodaikanal is the nearest railway station here. Eriyodu experiences a dry and hot climate. During the summers temperature rises upto a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius and falls to a minimum of 25 degrees Celsius. During the winters temperature vary between 25 and 18 degrees Celsius. Rainfall occurs here during the months of October to December. Eriyodu Assembly Constituency is under the Karur Lok Sabha constituency.

Demography of Eriyodu
According to the Indian census report of 2001 Eriyodu had a population of 7866. The males constitute 51% and females constitute 49% of the population. The average literacy rate is 66%. It is higher than the national average rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 76%, and female literacy rate is 55%. 11% of the population is under 6 years of age in Eriyodu.

Educational Institutions in Eriyodu
Eriyodu has established several schools and colleges to impart education to the children inhabiting in the town. There are two private primary schools namely, Vani nursery and primary School and Kalaivani Nursery and Primary School. These schools have been providing education for more than 20 years. Other than these there are two government schools here like Government Higher Secondary School and Government Middle School. These schools have been functioning for more than 50 year.

Eriyodu is well connected with all modes of transport. Several Bengaluru trains stop at the railway station of Eriyodu. The Dindigul Junction Railway Station is the nearest railway station here. Tourists can also take buses that ply from different places for the town. The nearest airport is located at Madurai.
