She is born and brought up in Mumbai and graduated in the stream of Commerce from MM College. She is born to a Punjabi Muslim father and an Iranian mother who does not at all belong to the film background. From a very tender age she has been inclined towards the art of acting and cherishes fondly her school days when she used to take part in all sorts of extracurricular activities such as elocution competitions and fancy dress competitions. After she left school she started modelling and continued it for two years. Following that she chalked up a number of prestigious ad films against her name. The Close Up toothpaste ad is the first among her ad campaigns.
Nausheen Sardar Ali did her first video album for Remo Fernandes, which was titled as Ocean Queen. But she gained recognition after her appearance in Altaf Raja's famous 'pehle toh kabhi kabhi gum tha'. After that she has also done Star Best Sellers, X-Zone and also anchored music shows on different channels. She also anchored a serial on national broadcaster Doordarshan for Farah Khan. She claims in an interview that acting was in her blood and she is very committed to it. She likes to emote and always likes to be transparent. She also remarked that she does not act, she does only what she feels. Acting is just like oxygen to her and she is in love with it. She also does not like to follow one particular genre of acting as it gets too boring with the passage of time. She would like to be versatile in whatever she does and would like to try her hands in various sorts of roles. In order to be a successful actor one needs to be very hardworking and committed to his or her work.
According to her alertness and versatility really counts and one has to learn how to get into skin of the character that he or she is playing. She does not always adhere to a given script. She shares a good rapport with the director and if she feels that she is not comfortable with a given scene then she feels free to approach the director with her problem. In some cases she goes beyond the script and experiments with the script as acting naturally comes to her. Her favorite actress is Nandita Puri as she has always been very encouraging, helpful and excellent on the screen.
Fame and recognition came to this girl with the role of Kkusum in the very popular serial by the same name. There was a nationwide audition for the role of the main lead in Kkusum. She thought of giving it a chance and went for the audition and got selected. She accepted the offer delightfully because it was a role of the 'girl next door' and she could quite identify herself with the role. She believes in quality work and not signing up assignments in bulk. But about this role she claimed that she was in her real life a person very much like the protagonist. She was herself a very determined character and believes in tough struggle to achieve what she aims for. After she bagged the role all her friends and acquaintances remarked that she has got the cake in her hands, that is the best role in the serial. But for her it was just another role where she needs to excel her acting skills to the extent where people will favor their appreciation towards her.
When she started working on the character of Kkusum and started shooting every day she realized that indeed it was the best role and she is fortunate enough to get it. She was also happy about the way the character of Kkusum has developed. She left the serial because of the saturation point. She wanted to move on as the eighteen-year leap had her playing mother to a grown-up daughter of her age and the melodrama was also going over her head. But the show started loosing its popularity after Nausheen was replaced from the role of kkusum and the serial came to an abrupt end. Before taking up an assignment she declares that the story is the most important part. She also needs to see who the director is and also the set up of the serial and the role that she is about to play. The cameraman is also one of the things she checks out before taking up an assignment. It also makes a lot of difference to her on which channel the serial is going to be aired on.
She always sees the weight of the script that she would be working on. The things that are very important to her and count a lot, are the past, present and future aspects of a particular thing. She is very different from the character that she was portraying in the serial because she would never accept her husband back after what her onscreen husband Abhay has done to her. Acting is like a process of action and reaction to her so she needs to be paired not only a good actor but also an intelligent actor. According to her if her co-stars act well she will react accordingly and give her best. She would like to describe herself, as one who would think about herself first and in the end all that matters to her is that she should be happy. She is very satisfied with her work at present and does not believe in planning things in advance, as future plans never materialize. Her dream role in future would be to enact the character of a mute girl where she will only have to communicate through her eyes and facial expressions.
According to Nausheen Sardar Ali television has a wider audience and reaches to the mass on a grand scale. Almost every house has a television and at the end of the day's work the whole family likes to sit together and watch TV so it is also regarded as the best and the most widespread form of communication. She does not dislike anything about acting as she feels that it is the only thing that gives her a high. Sometimes she thinks that acting is a bit difficult as well and requires lot of effort, especially when one has to enact a sad role in spite of being happy. According to her the thing, which makes the character of Kkusum so popular with the viewers, is the depiction of a today's woman who is independent, hard working and an all-rounder. She is portrayed as a superwoman who takes good care of her family as well as manages her career with great confidence and zeal. She considers herself both as a director's actor and actor's actor. She likes to maintain a balance both with the director and her co-star.
She also likes to do ads because of the reason that they are short and sweet. At present she would not like to join films but if she get offers from Rajshri and Yashraj films she would certainly like to be a part of it. As far as her personal life is concerned she likes to maintain a balance between both. As a kid she is always used to do things that she was asked not to do and if her family today asks her to leave her career she would certainly not agree to it. If she is not shooting she would either be relaxing at home watching the television and if she manages to get good time then she goes with her friends to discs. Her social life includes her friends' circle and she considers herself fortunate enough to get good friends. If one has to describe Nausheen Sardar Ali in one word it would be 'staright-forward'. To the aspiring actors and actresses she would like to address that they should believe in quality work and not quantity because the statement that quality work always matters in the end holds true.
Nausheen Sardar Ali is a talent laced with beauty. She is not only curvaceous with whopping sex appeal but also an actress of good brain. She has become a household name after her appearance as an utterly de glamorized character in the serial Kkusum. She can also be described as the girl with fire in the belly to make her mark. After rocking the small screen with her performances she is now all geared up to hit the big screen with her acting prowess. She has signed the film Mumbai Marathan where she will be playing the main lead with another model turned actor Bikram Saluja. She plays a doctor in this film. This film is written and directed by the debutant director Nisha and is produced under the banner of Matrix Communications. This movie has five different stories running parallel to each other. She signed the film because she liked the script a lot and feels that every character in the movie has been worked out in detail. In future also she would like to see herself in different kinds of roles and characters coming up from different walks of life. She started her career with television and will always be open to working in it if a good project comes her way. But as of recently she is concentrating on the two film projects; one is the Mumbai Marathan and Do Dilon Ki Khel Mein.
