Biswan is a city and also a municipal board. It lies in the Sitapur district in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. The cities close to Biswan are Kamlapur, Parsendi, Maharajnagar, Kirtapur, Sadrpur, Nilgaon and Mahmudabad. Census was last conducted in the town in 2001.
The population amounts to 47,746, with 52% males, 48% females and 16% children less than 6 years of age. With a male literacy of 65% and a female literacy of 53%, the town's average literacy rate is 59%, slightly lower than the national average of 59.5%. The exact geographical location of the town is 27.5° North and 81.0° East.
