Badarwas is a town and a "nagar panchayat" located in the Shivpuri district in the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. Shivpuri District is a major district of the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. The district headquarter of this district is a town by the same name. Important towns in the district include Badarwas, Kolaras, Khaniyadhana, Karera, Narwar and Pichhore. It is famous for the medieval fortress of Narwar and the Madhav National Park.
The specific location of Badarwas is 24.97° N and 77.57° E. It has a mean elevation of 471 meters (1545 feet) above ground level. The population of Badarwas is 10,408 according to the 2001 India census. Males and females respectively comprise 52% and 48% of the population. The average literacy rate is 62%, a little higher than the national average of 59.5%. The literacy rate of females is 39% and that of males is 61%. Children below six years of age constitute 17% of the population.
