History of Harishchandra Ghat It is believed that there was a time when king Harishchandra had spent a part of his life as a keeper of the crematorium. And as a reward for his determination, charity and truthfulness, God had resurrected Harishchandra’s deceased son and restored back his lost throne. After the Manikarnika Ghat, the Harishchandra Ghat is the only other cremation ghat of Varanasi.
