Central Khongampat Orchidarium, Imphal, ManipurCentral Khongampat Orchidarium has been a major attraction of Manipur. The Orchidarium offers visitors an excellent opportunity to see at least 110 species which are showcased here. The Orchidarium has at least 500 different varieties of orchids. Located at a distance of 7 kms from Imphal city, it covers an area of 200 acres which host many rare varieties of orchids among which it includes almost a dozen endemic species. This Orchidarium is located just be sides the Manipur zoological garden at a distance of 6 kms. The most appropriate season to see these blooms is in March-April when they look most attractive.

Central Khongampat Orchidarium is one of the prime tourist attractions in Manipur which is visited mainly by flower lovers. It includes a variety of colourful and exquisite looking flowers along with orchids. This Orchidarium is maintained by the Forest Department of Manipur which preserves over 120 variegated species of orchids. This orchid is also known for a number of experiments which is required to maintain the rare species of plants that are placed in the nursery. The orchids of Khonghampat Orchidarium have been collected from the different corners of the country. The prime season to visit the Khonghampat Orchidarium in Manipur is during the months of April and May when the blossoming flowers bloom in their most exotic form..
