Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary is a tranquil and serene sanctuary, which covers an area of 5729.07 sq.kms. This is one of the largest sanctuaries, which nestles some rare birds and animals, which are kept in an untouched and unexplored atmosphere. Along with some rare animal species, this sanctuary includes a wide variety of flora and fauna, which defines the exotic atmosphere of the sanctuary.

It covers at about 35 kms wide and the wild life sanctuary is surrounded with sytheric rocks, monolithic granite structure amidst thick forest with the Kaneri River flowing by its side.
