Arthur’s Seat is one of the important hill stations of Maharashtra which is located at a height of 1470 meters. Considered as the Queen of all sights this is one of the most attractive sights in Maharashtra.

ArthurArthur`s Seat is one of the well known hill stations of Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra. This hill station is surrounded with a number of hillocks which are covered with mud and evergreen forests. These mountain ranges are considered to be the queen of all hill stations. With high elevation the slopes of the mountains are carved in such a manner that reflects the pressure of the air and its impact on the erosion. Arthur`s Seat point is at height of 1470 metres. It is popularly known as Queen of the Points.

Location of Arthur"s Seat
Arthur`s Seat is located at a distance of 13 kilometres from Mahabaleshwar Bus Stand and 7 kilometres from Old Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra. Savitri River is visible from here.

Attractions of Arthur"s Seat
The place has been named after Mr Aurther Mallet who was the first to build a house in this place. His house is one of the most unique constructions of the area which reflects the architectural skill of both Konkan and Deccan which surround the area of Mahabaleshwar. Arthur`s Seat provides one of the most alluring sights with its barren valleys. Known as Savitri valley, these provide one of the most picturesque sights around Mahabaleshwar which is the biggest gift of Nature. With its deep valleys which are though not very green, this place is only one sight which provides an opportunity to view the geographical differentiation of the Konkan and the Deccan plateaus. As such this has been treated as the window for scenic beauty which is popularly known as the window point.

Thus with its scenic beauty and natural valleys this is considered as one of the picturesque sights in India. Surrounded with the ravines of some dilapidated forts and other tourist spots this is one of the most popular sights to visit in Maharashtra. Arthur`s Seat is famous for floating of light objects. From Arthur Seat Point, people can get captivating views of the Mahabaleshwar Range including Pratapgad, Koleshwar, Raireshwar and Chandragad.
