, for its eye-catchy and accurate visual effects that were designed and developed by Indian firm Prasad EFX in collaboration with Hollywoods Marc Kolbe and Craig Mumma. The visual effects incorporated comprised sophisticated 3D modelling and computer animation, including whole body scans, 3D replicas of vehicles, fire sequences, complicated wire removals and compositing work. Over 1,200 VFX shots were prepared, accounting for approximately 90 minutes of the films total screen time. The effects were of never before seen kind in Indian cinema at par with those seen in Hollywood movies, which made Krrish a trendsetter film of global significance.
VFX studio only has won the Filmfare Award for Best Special Effects twice, for Om Shanti Om
in 2008 and Ra.One in 2012.
