Kedar Nath Sahoo is a famous theatre personality of Bihar. He was a female impersonator in Saraikela chhau. He was born in Saraikela, Singhbhum district in 1921. Right from a very young age he had been drawn into theatre and acting. And there has been ample opportunity given to him to prove his mettle as a theatre personality. The state of Bihar has always been known for its acting and theatre, and Kedar Nath Sahoo has contributed greatly towards it.

Kedar Nath Sahoo received training as a child from the local prince Bijoy Pratap Singh Deo as the form reached its height, and accompanied the royal troupe that travelled to England in 1936. Later he taught many disciples, eventually becoming director of the Government Chhau Dance Centre at Saraikela. He led workshops on an invited trip to the USA in 1980.
