Star Voice of India is a famous Indian Television singing competition on Star Plus channel. With the jumble of music reality talent hunt shows on television, it becomes difficult to differentiate one from another. Talent is the key, which set Amul Star Voice of India apart from the rest in its first season and brought singing talents like Ishmeet Singh Sodhi, Harshit Saxena, Abhaas Joshi, Irfan Khan, Toshi to the forefront. The show was created by Gajendra Singh. He is an Indian Television producer and director who was started the earlier music talent show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Amul Star Voice of India started for the first time in May 2007. It has served as a platform for budding and struggling singers from across the nation to realize their dreams. Ishmeet Singh was the winner of the first session.
The show is now in its second session. Auditions were held in various cities of India such as Kolkata, Ludhiana, Bangalore, Agartala, Ranchi, Indore, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, New Delhi etc. from June 29, 2008 to July 06, 2008. 24 contestants were selected after the initial screening. The Star Voice of India second series got started on July 18, 2008 on Star Plus channel. It is aired every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. The show is produced by Saibaba Telefilms and is anchored by well-known Indian playback singer Shaan. It is being judged by renowned music composers Ismail Darbar and Monty Sharma and playback singer Sukhwinder Singh.
To strengthen the association with the viewers Amul Star Voice of India -2 aim to present the best singing talent from across India. The show features 24 talented singers from different states of India. They not only compete with each other for the coveted title of Star Voice of India 2 but also try to make the stage a combination of different colours, singing styles and traditions. All the participants always bring something new and unique to the show and that is the USP of the show as well. The whole nation will witness the struggle as well as transformation of the participants on their journey to the ultimate destination Amul Star Voice of India-2 title.
