Chitralekha is the companion and friend of the princess Usha, daughter of daughter of minister of Banasura. She was the daughter of minister of Banasura, a thousand armed asura and son of Bali. Usha informed Chitralekha about her dream of her would be husband Aniruddha. Chitralekha possessed some magic power, with the help of which she brought Aniruddha to the palace of Usha's father. Chitralekha helped Aniruddha to identify the young man seen in the dream of Usha.
