Prithvisena was succeeded by his son Rudra Sena II. He married Prabhavati, who was the daughter of Chandra Gupta II and because of this reason his relation between the Vakatakas and Guptas had become friendlier. The Vakatakas had come under the influence of the Guptas and that is why many Vakataka inscription and encouragement of Prabhavati that Rudra Sena II had adopted Vaishnava religion. Rudra Sena II could not rule for long and died in about 389 A.D
