History of Hans Raj College Initially started as an institution for men, the college became co-educational in 1978. Hans Raj College was established by the D.A.V. College Managing Committee in 1948 on July 26, in remembrance of the famous Indian educator and nationalist Mahatma Hansraj. The second Monumental Flagpole in Delhi was hoisted by the Hans Raj College on 25th January 2017.
