Devikulam is a tiny hill station in Kerala, which lies almost sixteen km to the southwestern part of Munar. Its height is approximately one thousand and eight hundred meters above the mean sea level. This beautiful hill station is ideal for visiting as it provides ample scope to bask in the fun of beholding the spectacle of nature. Cool breeze, the sight of wild animals roaming around, can become a memorable experience for the visitors. The term Devikulam signifies 'Pond of the Goddess', as it is believed that Devi Sita once upon a time had taken a bath in the pond lying close by. Hence the name.
People find it ideal to go there for picnic. Fishing is also permitted here. If any one wants to feel the pulse of the wild life, the best time to visit Devikulam would be from September to May.
How to reach Devikulam
It takes about four hours to reach Devikulam from Cochin. Cochin is approximately one hundred and forty nine km from Devikulam. Devikulam lies at a distance of nearly 132km from Kottayam. Devikulam can be reached in four hours from Kottayam.
