Indian Film, Raja Hindustani is directed by Dharmesh Darshan and the lead roles are played by Karishma kapoor and Aamir Khan. The film was inspired by the film 'Jab Jab Phool Khile' of 1960's which was starred by Nanda and Shashi Kapoor. The film was released in the year 1996. The soundtracks of the movie are composed by Nadeem-Shravan and lyrics by Sameer. ‘Raja Hindustani’ received several awards, which include 5 Filmfare Awards and 7 Screen Awards.
Plot of Raja Hindustani
Raja Hindustani is a pure love story. A village taxi driver falls in love with a rich businessman's daughter. There is a big difference in their status. And the girl's family is dead against to their marriage. However, the two get married and being failed to stop them the girl's family starts conspiring against them. They even try to create problem between them. By exploiting the boy's jealousy as well as his anger they tried to make them apart.
Mr. Sehgal played by Suresh Oberoi is a rich businessman. He has one daughter named Aarti played by Karishma Kapoor. After his wife's death he marries second time just to take good care of his daughter. But Aarti's stepmother Shalini played by Archana Puran Singh is just against to their nature and always tries to exploit the father and daughter. They live in an impressive big house. During her vacation Aarti wants to go to some hill station. So, she chooses to go to Palankhet. At this place her parents had met before their marriage. After reaching the place she meets a taxi-driver named Raja Hindustani played by Aamir Khan.
They share some good times and over a period of time both of them fall in love. They realized that they cannot live without each other and get married. They do this without anyone's concerns and even Mr. Sehgal does not know about this. But because of a father's unconditional love Mr. Sehgal eventually forgives his daughter and invites them to his house. But he does not know that some conspiracies are plot by his wife Shalini, her nephew Jai played by Mohnish Behl and her brother Swaraj played by Pramod Moutho. All of them want to destroy Aarti's life just to get hold of Sehgal's property.
They torment Raja with foolish things to raise his anger. Raja suddenly becomes insensitive towards Aarti's feelings and it was reflected upon their marital relation. The climax of the movie involves the antagonists fight with Raja and also involves Raja and Aarti's baby. The movie ends on a happy note.
