Kother Temple faces southwest and covers an area of about 8 feet 4 inches internally. It can be called a masterpiece example of Kashmiri architecture. The distinctiveness of the Kother temple lies in its entrance door that measures approximately 3feet 8inches x 6feet, whereas the niches on the exterior on the other three sides are comparatively smaller. In most of the other temples all three sides are always of same dimension as the open doorway. Nearby is another smaller temple facing west. An interesting feature of the Kother temple is, its lower part is completely buried underground. The temple can be approached from Acchabal, on the Acchabal-Kashtwar Road. The nearest railhead is Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
