Sulakshana Pandit is an accomplished singer turned actress who has playacted in many movies even in lead roles. She received most accolades for her playback singing and in 1975 Sulakshana Pandit received the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award for the song Tu Hi Saagar Hai Tu Hi Kinara in Sankalp.
Personal Life of Sulakshana Pandit
Sulakshana Pandit was born to a musically inclined family with three brothers and four sisters. Her brothers Jatin Pandit and Lalit Pandit are unanimously known as the famous music-composing duo, Jatin Lalit. Another celebrated actress and playback singer Vijeta Pandit is her sister. Her uncle Pandit Jasraj is a renowned classical vocalist. Her father Pratap Narayan Pandit was an accomplished classical vocalist. Her nephew Yash Pandit is an Indian television actor and her nieces Shraddha and Shweta Pandit are both accomplished playback singers. Sulakshana Pandit led a very unimpressive childhood because the family had to struggle for long to earn their daily bread. During the 1970's and early 1980's, Sulakshana led a mid-level career. In most of her films she was cast opposite Jeetendra.

Other than being a playback singer, Sulakshana Pandit also acted in over 50 films. Apart from singing for other heroines, she sang for herself as well.
