Rajrappa is considered to be prominent one amongst all the places of interests of Hazaribagh. Its significance is due to its religious tourism. Famous temple of Chhinnamastka Devi is situated here. It is on the conflux of rivers namely Damodar and Bhera. Beautiful idols of deities like Hanumanji, Maa Kali, Surya Dev and Ashtdhari are found here. Lying on NH 23 on Ranchi road this temple stretches to a distance of almost 65 km from Hazaribagh. Its closest railway station lies about 28 km away from the place. Myriads of pilgrims have crowded the temple from far off places. On a regular basis 2500 to 3000 persons frequent this place. Not only that on the temple premises a huge fair is organized every year on Makar Sankranti or vernal equinox. Apart from this several other religious festivals are organized through out the year. Narsigsthan Temple is also important place of interest of Hazaribagh. Beautiful idol of the Lord Narsingh , or lord Vishnu , is enshrined and also worshipped with lots of reverence. Devotees too throng here in large number as well. It lies at a distance of near about six kms from Hazaribagh. It is on Barkagaon road in the village of Khapriama . In other temples also idols of Dashawatar, Surya Dev, Maa Kali and Hanumanji are consecrated. Every day nearly two hundred devotees visit the place. A multiple of religious rituals are feted annually. Kartik Purnima, a huge fair, also is organized with lots of enthusiasm. ![]() Bhdrakali Temple One of the important places of interest of Hazaribagh district is Bhdrakali Temple. It is an ancient temple, which was founded almost four hundred years back. This temple is lies at Itkhori lying about sixty kms from district headquarters. Nowadays it is part of district of Chatra. Itkhori lies on the conflux of rivers namely Mahane and Vaksha . Idol of deity Maa Bhadrakali made up of Gomed stone is enshrined here. A picturesque surrounding is created due to the presence of magnificent mounds and lush jungles. Few more temples of various deities also can be spotted. In fact Itkhori is a hub of activities of religious communities like Vaishnavites, Shaivites, Jains and Buddhists. Multitudes of religious ceremonies are organized every year, which use to draw near about five hundred people from other places. ![]() It encompasses a total area of nearly 150 sq. miles. In the heartland there is 'right-free forest' region with an area stretching up to 80 sq miles. No shooting is permitted in the area of 150 sq miles. Also this 80 sq mile area has been preserved in its original state. No Cutting trees or disturbing floral system is allowed. However in the outer periphery, which covers area of near about 70 sq miles, regular expedition is allowed. For facilitating the tourists with a panoramic view a handful of watchtowers are built. Forest Rest House is built at Rajderwah, lying eighteen miles from Hazaribagh to provide accommodation to the tourists. The National Park is also beatified with a multiple of dams that are built over the years. Still some of them are under construction. Such dams are constructed for creating water pools so that wild animals can drink water during summer season. Simulated saltlicks are constructed for the animals. Raj Derwah is a prominent place of interest of Hazaribagh district. This wonderful tourist locale lies in the middle of the Hazaribagh National Park. There is a forest bungalow, which is located about 6 miles from 'Hazaribag-Barhi Road'. No shooting is permissible. The bungalow has good accommodation devoid of electricity. Also there are no facilities for cooking here. It is one of the places of interests of Hazaribagh district. It is located in the core of the town. One can enjoy splendid boating. Swarna Jayanti Park lies in the vicinity. Silwar Hill is praise worthy amongst several other places of interests of Hazaribagh district. It is a picturesque locale, which is situated at a distance of about 5 miles from the town of Hazaribagh on Bagodar road. It also houses several ancient images. Experts also have brought out an important fact about the place. In the year 1953 a temple was built and also where beautiful idols like Balbhadra Lord Jagannath, and Subhadra are enshrined. A fair began on the day of Ratha Yatra , a festival Indian festival. Recently a place has been named after 'Jagannath Dham'. It lies in close proximity and also is perfect for picnicking. Konar dam is a special attraction of the tourists of Hazaribagh district. It is the 2nd amongst 4 multi - purpose dams. It is incorporated in the 1st phase of Damodar Valley Project. Across the Konar River it has its location in the district of Hazaribagh. Specifically it lies twenty-three miles above its conflux with Damodar River.
