Chakreshwar Mahadev Temple, Kanki, Korba, ChhattisgarhChakreshwar Mahadev Temple, also known, as Kankeshwar Temple is a highly sanctified shrine in Kanki, located about 20km from Korba. The presiding deity is Lord Shiva, in the form of a Shivling on the main altar of the temple. The idols of Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesh can also be seen placed behind the Shivling. This primeval temple is furnished with exquisite carved images of gods and goddesses. The entrance door features images of Nagkanyaka. Hundreds of ancient sculptures and idols can be seen scattered around the temple complex.

The Shiva Temple situated to the right of the main temple is worth a visit. The notable feature of this temple is, the Shivling enshrined here, can be rotated by hand. A popular belief among the local populace is that this Shivling should be rotated by husband and wife. Also located to the right side of the Chakreshwar Mahadev Temple is the Bhairav Mandir that enshrines a single stone idol of Bhairav Baba (Shiva), 4.5 feet in height. The arena also features a small Shresht Muni Temple and a Hanuman Temple. Outside the perimeter of the chief temple, the temples of Durga and Kali are worth a second look.
