Following the tradition of the whole of Indian subcontinent, quite a number of towns and cities have developed here by leaps and bounds. In case of Uttarakhand the same phenomenon has been observed. Nagla is one such significant place. In fact it is an example of a census town, lying in the district of Udham Singh Nagar of the same state of India.
The proper identification of any town is possible only when one can catch hold of its demographical updates. Over the years a number of demographers have conducted surveys and research works so that they could throw some light on various demographical facets like population status, literacy rates etc. In this regard a special reference may be made of the Census report that has been issued forth in the year 2001.
According to this report, Nagla has shown a population counting of 22,944. Out of it, male populace constitutes 55 % .The total population of females comprises of 45 %. This shows that females are less in number than Nagla males. In Nagla, 12 % of the total population is below years of age.
How much a town has achieved development is known after analyzing its literacy condition. Regarding Nagla's average literacy rate, it can be said that it is quite high even higher than that of India as a whole. In other words, 70 % and 59.5 % are literacy rates of Nagla and India respectively. Specifications about male and female literacy rates also can be made from the report. Male literacy constitutes 78 %. Just like female population status, its literacy rate too is less and thus constitutes 61 %.
From the perspective of the whole district few line of information also can be incorporated. Agriculture is the main source of income for the district people. Other related agricultural activities like rearing of animals, milk production, and horticulture are also widely practiced. Being a part of this district it is apparent that people of Nagla too follows the same trend and tradition.
