 P. Kalinga Rao or Pandeshwara Kalinga Rao, a noteworthy Bhavageete and Sugama Sangeetha singer in Kannada language was born in the year 1914. He used to be regarded as the "Monarch of light music in Kannada". He has been credited to propagate Kannada Bhavageete. Kannada Bhavageete is the form of music that deduces lyrics from popular poetry as well as devotional works. "barayya beLadingale", "Bramha ninge joDisteeni..", "mooDal kunigal kere yeri", "nageyu baruthide yenage..." etc are the popular songs executed by Pandeshwara Kalinga Rao.
This talented singer had four children. They are Prema, Vasanth, Sharath and Santosh.
