The 15th Khanda of Chapter Six of Chandogya Upanishad states about the ultimate liberation. Uddalaka, the son of Aruna explained to his son Svetaketu, the grandson of Aruna that when a person is in a dying state and is afflicted with illness many people gather around him and enquire whether he can still recognise them or not. The dying person is able to recognise then till the moment his speech merges into his mind, his mind merges into his life, his life merges into heat, and the heat into the Supreme Deity. However, when his speech is merged in his mind, his mind in his prana, his Prana in heat and the heat in the Highest Deity, then he does not know them. That particle which is the soul of all is the ultimate Truth; it is the Universal Soul, the ultimate truth.
