By now all the small screen viewers are familiar with the name of Deven Bhojani aka Gattu in the hugely popular show 'Baa Bahu Aur Baby'. He made his television debut way back in the year 1996 with an episode called 'Nitya' which formed a part of the Malgudi Days series. Since then he never had to look back as his acting potential reflected well his passion for acting. Very few people know that he was also nominated for the role of the Best Supporting Actor in the Bollywood blockbuster 'Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander'.
Following that Deven Bhojani set out to make his mark in the television industry by the character portrayal of Karima in 'Dekh Bhai Dekh'. He also earned much praise by his splendid performance in another hugely popular soap 'Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka'. In this soap he wooed the small screen viewers by playing the character of Raju Rajkotwala. He also meted out brilliant performances in other soaps like 'Tara', 'Hum Sub Ek Hain' and 'Office Office'. In the last one his role was a hilarious one as he enacted the character of a man who saw two things behind every thing. In another classic comedy titled 'Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai' he is seen as the son-in-law of Satish Shah and Ratna Pathak called Dushyant. He is also the director of this comedy show.
Besides maintaining a tough schedule of direction Deven Bhojani also finds time to entertain his fans by meting out powerhouse performance in 'Baa Bahu Aur Baby'. The character of Gattu in this soap has delighted both the young and old alike and he has been highly acclaimed for his performances. He is the youngest son of Baa and is very childlike in his demeanor. He is mentally underdeveloped and always indulges himself in childish activities and over-eating. Enacting such a different as well as difficult character is indeed challenging and he has succeeded in accepting the challenge and fulfilling it to the core. About portraying the character he claims, "So it's a tough part and I am trying hard to get it right". According to him the soap has got its own human elements and is packed with lots of emotions. He has also been honored with many awards at several prestigious awards ceremonies.
About donning the cap of the creative director Deven Bhojani claims direction is nothing less than a challenge and as a director he believes in taking care even of the smallest details. As a human being he is much different from the characters that he portrays. He also believes that comedy is a serious business and feels himself fortunate to have been blessed with a writer like Aatish Kapadia.
He is also looking forward to work with other producers in future. Seeing the remarkable success of the actor cum director one can say that talent never goes in vain and gets paid sooner or later. In fact life cannot get better for such a talented individual. However he also regrets over the fact that he does not get time to involve in theater and misses the thrill of it terribly. It is an obvious expectation that this gifted artiste will go a long way in the coming times.
