From the perspective of the entire district more information can be cited. Agriculture is widely practiced. It has been mainly possible due to district's propensity to irrigational facilities as has been provided by various tanks and river water. Prevalence of black soil is also suitable for carrying on agricultural activities. Main crops like toor, Bajra, sugarcane, groundnut, sunflower, sesame, castor bean, black gram, jowar, wheat, cotton, ragi, linseed and bengal gram, are produced here. Very recently only a handful of industries have produced like cement, textile, leather, chemical.
