The science museum named as Marine Museum of Mandapam Regional Centre of Central was established in the year of Independence, i.e. 1947 in the state of Tamil Nadu.
The museum displays marine objects like, seaweeds, sponges, corals, polychaetes, prawns, crabs, hermit crabs and marine mammals. In addition to these, there are also Ethinoderms, Molluscs and Laccadive fish.
One who feels interested may come to see the museum between 9:30am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm. The museum remains close on Sundays, second Saturdays and other public holidays.
