Strategically, located on NH 49, Tiruppuvanam is located at a distance of 26 km from Manamadurai and the temple city of Madurai is located in the northwest of the town at a distance of 48 km. The nearest railway station is the Manamadurai Junction Railway Station on the Sivagangai Ramanathapuram rail line of the Southern Railways. Geographically, it is located between 9.7° North latitude and 78.48° East longitude at a height of 70 metres (229 feet) above mean sea level.
