The popular soap Doli Saja Ke explores the intricacies and the emotional depths of the father and daughter relationship. It is aired on Sahara One TV and shows how a girl child becomes the eyesore of her father because her mother expired the day she was born. It also delves into the part of her life where she is seen growing up amidst hatred and curse and how she will be rescued by her Prince Charming who would take her along with him to the happily-ever-after dreamland. The serial is produced by the veteran actor-turned-producer Aruna Irani. She also justified the fact of again launching a stereotype family drama based on women who are termed as 'manhoos' or 'cursed' saying that this is what really happens in many cases. The story line is almost similar to the theme of the old Hindi classic 'Anupama' but the treatment is absolutely different.
About the lead characters being replaced at short intervals in the show Doli Saja Ke Aruna Irani claimed that even the super hit filmmakers couldn't guarantee success all the time. She claimed that the show is fantastic and it is expected to do well. The serial was planned for 208 episodes in the initial stages and is expected to be extended if it clicks with the audience. The cast mainly comprised of brilliant actors with Barkha Bisht playing the lead role of Anupama and Anuj Saxena playing the character of her father. Another popular small screen Jaya Mathur essayed the role of her step-mom. Pawan Sahu directed the soap.
The popular small screen actress Barkha Bisht who played the lead in Doli SaJa Ke has also managed to vow millions of people with her dusky beauty and her immense acting potential. She claims that compared to the other female protagonists in all the leading dailies the character of Anupama in the show was comparatively weak and her shyness and innocence were always an integral part of her being. The male protagonist Chetanya (played by Amit Sarin) has yet again proved his acting talents in this show. From his earlier ventures to the latest show the actor has proven his versatility more than once. However it is expected that such shows will soon come up and would prove to be a great entertainment to the small screen viewers.
