The charming Bengali beauty Payal Sarkar is seen essaying the character portrayal of Shruti in the first television venture of the renowned filmmaker Anurag Basu titled 'Love Story'. In fact she is the leading lady of this soap, which is currently creating waves on SAB TV. In this serial, Payal Sarkar essays the character of a cute and bubbly lasso called Shruti who lives with her uncle and aunt as well as her cousins. She is very out spoken by nature. When she was shooting for the Bengali film 'I Love You', Anurag Basu offered her this role. Following that she went to Bombay for the auditions and got selected. She was also a part of a few ad campaigns and has also done a few commercials with Pradeep Sarkar of 'Parineeta' fame prior to this assignment. The fact that attracted her to this serial was the transformation of a typical boy-loves-girl story to a drawn out fight for love and power.
Payal Sarkar originally hails from the 'City of Joy' Kolkata and has managed to create a huge fan following of her own by her immense acting potential. She has completed her graduation in history and never planned to become an actor. However in real life this damsel is a big fan of the Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. She cherishes the hope of working with the great actor one day and also regrets the fact that she couldn't be a part of the Bollywood chartbuster 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' in the character portrayal of either Anjali (played by Kajol) or Tina (played by Rani Mukherjee). Her fans cherish the hope that this aspiring talent will scale great heights of success in the approaching years.
