Jorapokhar is a census town in the Dhanbad district of Jharkhand.

Jorapokhar is a small settlement in the Dhanbad district of the Indian state of Jharkhand. According to the Indian census report of 2001, the population of Jorapokhar has been estimated to be 85, 218. Males and females account for 54% and 46% of the population. In Jorapokhar, 14% of the population is less than six years of age. The census report also throws light on the literacy rate of this census town. The average literacy rate of Jorapokhar has been estimated to be 65%, which is higher than the national average literacy rate, which is 59.5%. Out of it, the male literacy rate is 74% and the female literacy rate is 55%.
