It resides a 64 m square pond , better known as sarovar. All the devotees of the Handiaya city have got the belief that this pond has therapeutic power to get rid of a range of diseases. According to the popular legend, Guru Tegh Bahadur stopped in an orchard near this pond. Another place of attraction that has drawn attraction of so many devotees over the years , is a gurdwara . It is called Sahib Guru Sar Pakka Patches IX. Built by the ruler of Patiala, In Handiaya , this gurdwara comprises of five meters vaulted room and a podium where the Holy Guru Granth Sahib is preserved. Majority of the villagers of the Handiaya love to spent their times in celebrating festivals and all the other joyful occasions. At the time of Amavasi, unique assemblies usually take place. Apart from Amavas, fairs are also organized at purnmashi eacah and every month for 1 day each in the remembrance of a 'saint', namely, Sant Kaleranwale. In his honor also a 'gurudwara' has been built in the Handiaya village. Durga Ka Mela is another popular fair in the village of Handiaya. It is also organized for 1 day in the temple, which has been consecrated to the deity Durga during the months of March and April and also during September and October. Within the temple premises all the villages of Handiaya execute 'mundan' ritual of their children. Myriads of people from every part of the area participated in this festival with lots of vigor and enthusiasm. In order to facilitate the connectivity of the Handiaya village, both rods and railway facilities are being provided. For instance, Barnala Railway Station is the adjacent 'railhead'.
