Gwalior Division is an important administrative subdivision of Madhya Pradesh
. The districts of Ashoknagar District
, Guna, Gwalior
and Shivpuri come under the jurisdiction of the Gwalior division. Gwalior is the administrative headquarters of this division.
The Gwalior division is characterized by a level agricultural plain with occasional ranges of low hills and along with the Chambal division; it is a part of the Gird region of Madhya Pradesh
. The northern, adjacent portion, which was once the part of the state Gwalior, and the non-contiguous southern portions of Gwalior are the part of the division.
