Ghiraur is a town and a nagar panchayat located in the Mainpuri district of the northern state of India, Uttar Pradesh. The district headquarters is in the city of Mainpuri, which is about 25 km. east of Ghiraur. Shikohabad Junction Railway Station is the nearest major railway junction. Kosma Railway Station, situated about 8 km east, is the nearest railhead. The nearest airport is at Agra.
According to the 2001 census report, Ghiraur had a population of 12,108 inhabitants. Males constitute 53% of the population and females constitute 47% of the population. In Ghiraur, 20% of the population is less than six years of age. The town has an average literacy rate of 54%, which is lower than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 61% and the female literacy rate is 47%.
Ghiraur is a major trading center in the district.
