Gaurella is a town located in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh. Pendra is located in the southwest at a distance of 8 km. of Gaurela. The nearest airport is at Raipur and the Pendra Railway Station is the nearest railhead.

According to the 2001 India census report, Gaurella had a population of 15,173 inhabitants. Males constitute 51% of the population and females constitute 49% of the population. In Gaurella, 13% of the population is less than six years of age.This town has an average literacy rate of 72% which is higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 79% and the female literacy rate is 64%.
