 Gangapur is a town in Varanasi district of the northern state of India, Uttar Pradesh. It is located between 23.87° North latitude and 75.98° East longitude at a height of 448 metres (1469 feet) above mean sea level. According to the 2001 India census report, Gangapur had a small population of 6388 inhabitants. Males constitute 53% of the population and females constitute 47% of the population. In Gangapur, 20% of the population is less than six years of age. Gangapur has an average literacy rate of 55% which is lower than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 63% and the female literacy rate is 46%.
