According to the 2001 India census report, Ganapathipuram had a small population of 13,653 inhabitants. Males and females constitute an equal proportion of the population. In Ganapathipuram, 11% of the population is less than six years of age. Ganapathipuram has an average literacy rate of 74%, which is higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 77%, and the female literacy rate is 72%.
