Gairatganj is a taluka headquarters town in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. It is located in the northeastern part of the district. Raisen , the district headquarters is located at a distance of 42 km.in the east, Silwani, is located in the northwest at a distance of 12 km. Bhopal, the state capital is located in the west at a distance of 89 km. The nearest airport is the Bhopal airport and the nearest railway station is the Sagar Railway Station.
As per as the 2001 census report, Gairatganj had a small population of 8095 inhabitants. Males constitute 53% of the population and females constitute 47% of the population. In Gairatganj, 17% of the population is less than six years of age. Gairatganj has an average literacy rate of 71%, which is higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 76%, and the female literacy rate is 65%.
