Dharamshala Cricket Stadium is a new stadium in the state of Himachal Pradesh which is situated at a height of 4000 feet above sea level.

The Dharamshala Cricket Stadium is a state-of-the-art cricket stadium which has been constructed with a whooping budget of fifty crore rupees.

Dharamshala Cricket Stadium is located at the height of 4000 feet above sea level and has been erected keeping in mind all the international standards, and happens to be the only cricketing ground which is situated at such a height. This stadium has hosted Indian Premier League matches for 2010 and 2011 editions.

HPCA Stadium also known as Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium is a cricket stadium situated in Dharamshala city in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The closest airport to the HPCA Stadium is Gaggal at Kangra, which is about 15 km away.

The stadium serves as the home ground for Himachal Pradesh cricket team for Ranji Trophy matches and other limited overs matches. The stadium also happens to be the backup venue to host two IPL matches as the home stadium of Kings XI Punjab. So floodlights have been installed in this ground for this particular reason. It is Dav Whatmore, the former Director of the Indian National Cricket Academy and present coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders, who suggested that this ground could serve as a proper international.

The Dharamshala Stadium, out of all Indian stadiums, has a picturesque backdrop of the mighty Dhauladhar snow peaks. The average temperature that prevails during peak hours of summers has been recorded as 25 degree to 30 degrees Celsius as maximum and 20 degrees Celsius as minimum. While the entire India suffers from terrible heat waves this place experience soothing weather.

The pleasant weather adds to the popularity and glory of the game and helps to attract more spectators to the ground who come. This stadium has a maximum spectator capacity of 20,000 and provides modern facilities, split practise sessions, new rehabilitation centre, lounge, bar, restaurant, banquet hall which can house 500 odd people.
