Sunbird in IndiaBirds to a city or cosmopolitan man might mean nothing, but mere botheration to the ear and even additional sounds. In fact, common birds can be witnessed perhaps from every house window or parapet or roof, tweeting its way out. However, a bird-watcher’s view on birds is vastly different from any ordinary man. In such special cases a bird’s tweeting and chirping are his most cherished sounds. He is ever ready to wait and wait for prolonged hours just to understand its call and assimilate forever. And the umpteen bird sanctuaries in India are absolutely the perfect places where birds can be found in plenty, awaiting their turn to be heard. These sounds reverberate profusely from dawn till dusk.

Due to its vast and varied geographical setting, climate and extended coastline, India provides shelter to thousands of bird species. Bird sanctuaries are just a part and gift by the Indian administration to increase seasonal migrations, security, more forested areas and bird-watching into a blissful pleasure and which is why the country also attracts a large number of different migratory birds every year.
