Candolim beach is located fourteen kilometers north of Panaji in the state of Goa. It is a part of the beach coastline extending along the Arabian Sea. It begins at Fort Aguada and ends at Chapora Beach.
Every year this beach attracts a lot of tourists because of the white sands, which beautify the scrub, covered dunes of the beach. The beach offers various water sports activities like parasailing; water skiing, wind surfing and so on. The beach is also an ideal spot for yoga and meditation because of its serene ambience. People also enjoy fishing in this beach because of its peaceful and quiet environment. Unlike other beaches in Goa, the nightlife of Candolim beach is calm which is a distinct mark of the beach.
Aguada Fort is a major attraction in Candolim beach. The Portuguese built the fort in 1912. It was built for fortification against Dutch and Maratha invaders. Other than the fort, the church, the lighthouse and the garrison of the Aguada jail are also major tourist attractions. There are many resorts, villas and guesthouses around this fort. In the northern side of the fort there is also the Calangute beach.
