Chapora Beach is located at a distance of ten kilometres from Mapusa in North Goa and is one of the most interesting beaches of Goa
. A major attraction in the beach is the Chapora Fort
. The other major beaches in the vicinity are Vagator Beach
and the Anjuna Beach
. Compared to other beaches in Northern Goa, Chapora is a popular destination among tourists visiting Goa. White sands, black lava rocks, swaying palms and the marvellous greenery characterize the Chapora beach.
Close to the Chapora beach there is a village, which is set on the estuary of the Chapora River, and close to the village there is a rocky hill where the Chapora Fort is situated. The best time to visit this place is from October to March.
