Yangyang, SikkimYangyang is a beautiful tourist spot situated in southern part of Sikkim, set amidst lush green forests and towering mountains. It is a gateway to spend a pleasant weekend in the arms of nature. On the edge of the hill, there is Yangyang Bungalow which offers bewitching views of Bhaleydunga Hill and the deep valleys of Teesta River. Yangyang, a small village, is nestled at the foot of the Maenam Hill. The gorgeous landscapes and lovely climate makes it a perfect holiday destination where one can relax and rejuvenate himself.

Yangyang has Lepcha Heritage Centre which has a museum dedicated to Lepcha art and culture. Tig Cho lake and the thick forest of Yangyang are charming. There is also a local monastery and a rock painting of Guru Padmasambhava. The place also hosts a helipad. Yangyang is the refuge of numerous beautiful avian species. The graceful Teesta River meanders nearby sketching a beautiful vista of nature. Yangyang is a heaven for bird watchers and some of the rarest birds of the state are found here. Riverside picnic and camping are also enjoyable here. Yangyang Bungalow is regarded as a hidden gem of the state for its exquisite British style architecture. It is equipped with all the modern facilities for the tourists.

There are several tourist spots located nearby which can also be explored by the tourists at Yangyang. Ravangla, 24 kilometres away, hosts a monastery, the trail to Maenam Hill and a Buddha park. Solophok is known for its Chaardham Temple Complex. Tendong Biodiversity Park and Samdruptse Monastery are also popular spots. The only tea estate of Sikkim, called Temi Tea Garden, is at a distance of 420 kilometres.

Visiting Information
Yangyang can be visited at anytime of the year as the winters here are not extreme and the summers remain cool and pleasant. Yangyang is located at a distance of 53 kilometres from Gangtok and 115 kilometres from Siliguri.
