There are ten types of Yamaka. They are Padanta, Kahi, Samudga, Vikrania, Cakravala, Sandasta, Padadi, Amradiia, Caturvyavasita and Mala. When the syllables are the same at the ends of all the four feet it is Padanta Yamaka.
At the beginning and at the end of every foot there are two similar words - this is Kahi
Yamaka.
Samudga Yamaka - half of the verse is repeated.
Vikranta Yamaka - If two feet are similar leaving feet in the middle
Cakravdha Yamaka - If the word or syllable at the end of a foot is repeated at the beginning of the next foot it is the Cakravala Yamaka.
Sandasa Yamaka - The beginning of every foot are similar.
Padadi Yamaka - The same word occurs at the beginning of all the feet
Amredita Yamaka - At the end of every foot a word is repeated twice
Catu Vyavasita Yamaka- All the feet of the verse consist of the same words and syllables.
Mala Yamaka - the same consonant recurs with different vowels many times.
