Visvesvaraya Technological University , Belgaum ,KarnatakaVisvesvaraya Technological University is located at Belgaum in Karnataka. It was established in the year 1998 by Visvesvaraya Technological University act of 1994.It ahs been recognised by the University Grant Commission.The University was named after Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya.The University is the member of Member of Association for Commonwealth Universities and Member of Association of Indian Universities.

This is the first technological University of the state. Now the University has 141 engineering colleges across the state. The University offers 25 Bachelor of Engineering and 54 Masters in Technology courses.The University also offers research programmes, M.Sc in engineering and MBA and MCA courses.The University has recently started Bachelor of Engineering in Bio-Technology.The University has 80 research centers throughout the state.The University has excellent placement record.

The University organozes teacher training programmes,workshops and student projects in the collaboration with IBM, INTEL Asia Electronics Inc., Ingersoll-Rand (India) Ltd., Bangalore and Microsoft. To establish Indo-German Institute of Technology the University is working with Diamant Metallplastic GmbH, Germany and Diamant Triump Metallplastic Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore.Apart from that the University is trying to build e- network with other leading institutions. The University is all set to introduce Nodal Training Institute for the training of the staff of engineering college.
