Starting a career with advertising, Vikas Bahl soon surfaced as a prominent name in the Hindi film industry.

Early Life of Vikas Bahl
Vikas Bahl was born in the year 1971 in Lajpat Nagar in Delhi. His father was an employee of the Indian Oil Corporation. Vikas grew up in Delhi and graduated from Ramjas College. After completing his graduation he shifted to Mumbai where he did MBA from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).

Vikas Bahl began his career in the entertainment industry with advertising. For many years he worked in the domain of client servicing. He has been one of the most admired Media Executives and under his leadership the marketing team of Radio Mirchi made it one of the top radio brands in India. He has also worked as the Business Head of Sab TV and during this period the channel rose from number 9 to one of the top 3 channels according to the viewer-ship count. He was also associated with UTV Spot Boy. In the year 2011 Bahl started his own production house titled Phantom Films along with Madhu Mantena, Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap. His works have associated him with prominent filmmakers such as Vikramaditya Motwane, Rajkumar Gupta, Vishal Bhardwaj and others. In 2011 he also co-directed the critically acclaimed Bollywood flick Chillar Party along with Vijay Mauryan and Nitesh Tiwari. The film was greatly applauded by the critics and won National Film Award for Best Children`s Film. In the year 2014 he directed the movie Queen featuring Kangna Ranaut which was his independent directional venture. The movie met huge appreciation from critics as well as audiences. He has also worked as a screenwriter for the films Chillar Party and Queen. Bahl has also produced films like Ugly, Lootera and Hasee Toh Phasee. Vikas Bahl has also been associated with flicks such as Black, Aamir, Welcome to Sajjanpur, Dev.D, Udaan and No One Killed Jessica as an associate producer.

Achievements of Vikas Bahl
Vikas Bahl won 2011 National Film Award for Best Screenplay (Co-screenwriter) for the movie Chillar Party. In the same year and for the same film he also received National Film Award for Best Children`s Film (Co-director).
