Vijay Shinde was a prolific artist. He reflects his thought and philosophy in his work. His creations have no title as he wants the viewers to perceive his work themselves. He belongs to the place of Sholapur of Maharashtra. Then he had joined the Abhinav College in Pune and his formal education in art began. Later on he had come to Mumbai, and studied Fine Arts at Sir J. J. School of Art.
His first solo exhibition was at Jehangir Art gallery. He has conducted over 22 solo shows apart from group exhibitions. Some of them are Gallery Tao in January 2000 along with artists like S H Raza, Prabhakar Kolte, Sujata Bajaj, and Anant Nikam.
He is known as an abstract artist. In fact for past two decades he has done abstracts only. He depicts mystic elements, subtle sense of expression and intriguing relationship through abstracts.
